Surfactant
Stewardship
Program for
Gent-L-Kleen
Products, Inc.
Prepared:
5/12/2008
Gent-L-Kleen
Products has
always aware of
the importance
of using
environmentally
safe chemicals
in its products.
Steps have
always been
taken eliminate
chemical waste
through careful,
planned
formulation
methods. If
technological
advances
determined a
component was
unsuitable or
unsafe, products
were
reformulated to
remove that
component. In
2004 we began
reformulating
our products to
meet various
environmental
standards. VOC
content was
removed or
reduced to
regulatory
levels in all
products by
December 2004.
We began
replacing nony-phenol
surfactants in
selected
products in May
2006, completing
the removal of
NPE surfactants
in all products,
by October 2007.
Gent-L-Kleen
continues to be
committed to
reviewing all
materials for
environmental
and health
safety. We
expect to be
formulating with
only
environmentally
sound
surfactants by
June 1, 2009.
This time frame
will allow us to
identify those
surfactants that
still need to be
replaced, and to
prove formula
stability and
performance.
The
Gent-L-Green™
line of hand
care products
includes
surfactants that
have been
specially
reviewed for
environmental
and personal
safety. Our goal
is to formulate
more products
that meet the
Gent-L-Green™
criteria as
materials become
available for
review.
